UWA Women's Basketball Time Changed

The University of West Alabama women’s basketball game time on Saturday, Nov. 21 vs. Talladega College has been moved to 4:00 p.m. The time was originally scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The game time has been moved to avoid conflict with UWA’s Second Round berth into the NCAA Division II Football Championships. UWA will open the 2009-2010 season on Wednesday, Nov. 18 as the Tigers host Concordia College of Selma in a home opener doubleheader. Tip-off for Wednesday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the UWA men following at 7:30 p.m.

UWA Hoops Tabbed Fourth in GSC East     The University of West Alabama women’s basketball team was picked fourth in the Gulf South Conference East Division in the 2009 GSC Women’s Basketball Pre-Season Coaches’ Poll. The UWA women, who earned their sixth berth in the GSC Tournament last season under UWA Head Coach Amanda Marks, garnered 12 total points in the poll. More
