has announced the signing of 26 student-athletes for the
2009 football season on Wednesday afternoon. The list
includes 14 transfers and 12 high school seniors from across
the southeast region.

Hill Named Defensive
Back Coach The University of West Alabama
Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Derek
Hill as defensive backs coach for the UWA football team,
effective immediately. Hill joins the Tiger staff after
serving for one season as the defensive backs coach for the
Georgia Mustangs of the North American Football League.

2008 NCAA Division II statistical champion
The University of West Alabama’s Garry Pack was named
the 2008 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division
II statistical champion for solo tackles, as announced by
the NCAA.
