Concludes Regular Season at UNA The University of
West Alabama football team gears up for its regular-season
finale as UWA (6-4, 4-3 Gulf South Conference) travels to
Florence, Ala. to face top ranked and undefeated North Alabama.
Kickoff at Braly Municipal Stadium is slated for 6:00 p.m. The
game will be aired on FOX Sports 104.9-FM and at

Tigers Outlast Ouachita Baptist The University of
West Alabama football team outlasted Ouachita Baptist 52-49 in a
Gulf South Conference shootout. UWA (6-4, 4-3 GSC) recorded 557
yards of total offense, the second most by a Bobby Wallace
coached UWA team. Deon Williams tossed for 340 yards and a
career-high five touchdowns in the win. Terry Allen tallied 257
yards in the game, with 100 on the ground and 71 through the air
in the Homecoming contest.

The University of
West Alabama football returns to Gulf South Conference action on
Saturday, Oct. 31 as UWA (5-4, 3-3 GSC) hosts Ouachita Baptist
for Homecoming 2009. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. The game will

The
University of West Alabama football team had a two-game win
streak snapped in a 10-9 loss at West Georgia on Saturday, Oct.
24. The loss extends the Tigers’ (5-4, 3-3 Gulf South
Conference) losing streak at UWG (1-7, 1-5 GSC) to eight games.

UWA Ranked Sixth in Regional Rankings The
University of West Alabama football team moved up to sixth in
the second National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II
Football Regional Ranking as announced by the NCAA Division II
Selection Committee. UWA (5-3, 3-2 Gulf South Conference) was
picked ninth in the initial Super Regional Two Rankings last
week.

UWA Football Blanks Boll Weevils 33-0 The
University of West Alabama football team tallied 478 yards of
total offense in a 33-0 win over the University of Arkansas at
Monticello. The shutout was the first over a Gulf South
Conference opponent since UWA (5-3, 3-2 GSC) blanked Delta State
10-0 in 1979. The shutout is the first for the Tigers since a
65-0 blanking of Concordia in 2006, the first game under Head
Coach Bobby Wallace.

Upset No. 22 Delta State
The University of West Alabama football team snapped
a seven-game losing streak against Delta State as UWA (4-3, 2-2
Gulf South Conference) upset No. 22 Delta State 34-14 on
Saturday, Oct. 10 at Tiger Stadium. The victory marked the first
win over the Statesmen (3-3, 2-2 GSC) in Livingston, Ala. since
1993 and gave UWA Head Coach Bobby Wallace his 97th win at a GSC
school.

Saturday, Oct. 3 in front of 4,728 at Tiger Stadium. The
combined 98 points was the most in school history in a UWA
(3-3) setback.

Tiger Football Falls 35-6 at Valdosta State
The University of West
Alabama football team shoved its only score across the goal
line with 1:40 remaining to play in the game to fall 35-6 at
Valdosta State on Saturday, Sept. 26. UWA falls to 3-2 on
the season and 1-2 in Gulf South Conference play. VSU
improved to 2-2 and 2-1 in the GSC.
