Travels To Tampa, Fla. For NCAA South Regional
The University of West Alabama cross country team will compete
in the 2009 NCAA South Regional on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Tampa,
Fla. The men’s event will get underway at 7 a.m. CST followed
by the women’s meet at 8 a.m. CST.

Seventh
The University of West Alabama women’s cross country team posted
a program-best fifth place finish at the 2009 Gulf South
Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Veterans
Park. The UWA men finished seventh in the men’s championship.

State Foothills Invitational. The meet starts with the women’s

At Pre-SEC Meet
The
Pre-Southeastern Conference Cross Country Meet, hosted by the
University of Mississippi was cancelled due to inclement weather
that came through the Oxford, Miss. area on Saturday. The UWA
cross country team was scheduled to compete in the UM-hosted
event.

Mississippi State Invitational, as both teams finished fourth in
the Saturday morning event. UWA finished on the heels of

men’s and women’s team standings.

Claim Top Spot At Southern Miss Invitational
The University of
West Alabama men’s cross country team claimed top honors at the
season-opening Southern Miss Invitational on Friday. UWA also
took the top-two individual spots in the individual standings.
Junior Jonathan Sellers edged teammate Austin Enriquez to
garner the top spot. The Tiger women turned in a third-place
finish.

West Alabama sophomore
Austin Enriquez turned in a season-best finish at the Auburn
Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth overall and guiding UWA
to a sixth-place finish on the men’s side while the Tiger women
finished ninth in the Blue division of the meet.
