HOOVER, Ala. — West
Alabama’s Austin Enriquez earned First Team
All-Gulf South Conference honors with his
ninth-place finish at the 2007 GSC Cross country
Championships in Hoover, Ala. on Saturday.
UWA’s Jonathan Sellers claimed a spot on the
All-GSC Second Team with his 17th-place
finish.
Enriquez turned in a time of
27 minutes, 26 seconds on the Veteran’s Park
course. The Fayetteville, Ga. – native has led
the Tiger charge in four out the five meets on
the season. Sellers clicked a time of 27:51 to
garner a conference honor. The Enriquez and
Sellers duo led the Tigers to a sixth-place
finish in the team standings.
UAH snapped Harding’s
seven-year run as GSC Champions on the men’s
side. The Chargers won its first-ever men’s
cross country championship with 40 team points.
HU finished second with 48 while West Florida
claimed third.
On the
women’s side, senior Amanda Fuentes was UWA’s
top-finisher with a mark of 21:14.21 in the 5K
event and placed 35th in the
individual standings. The Red and White
finished 11th in the team order. The
HU women claimed the women’s championship.
