LIVINGSTON, Ala.—The
University of West Alabama
volleyball team broke into the win
column last weekend and looks to
extend its match winning streak this
weekend at the UAH-Country Inn
Suites Volleyball Tournament in
Huntsville, Ala.
The Tigers open tournament play
11:00 a.m. Friday against Arkansas
Tech and will meet Harding at 4:00
p.m. During Saturday's second day,
West Alabama plays Christian
Brothers at 9:00 a.m. and will take
on Henderson State in the final
match of the tournament at 1:00 p.m.
"I'm pleased with the team's
development," Tigers head coach Ron
Arenz said. "Although our current
record (2-6) doesn't indicate our
potential, every time the players
get ready for practice or
competition, they always give their
best effort and that's all I can ask
for. This weekend will be another
great opportunity for this young
team to gain valuable match
experience and establish themselves
as the emerging program of the GSC."
West Alabama opened last weekend's
tournament at Belhaven College with
a pair of losses to Loyola
University of New Orleans, 3-2
(26-30, 18-30, 30-21, 30-26, 14-16)
