Wolves Spoil Tigers Home Finale, 3-0 |
LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The
University of West Alabama
volleyball team dropped a 3-0
decision to the University of
West Georgia on Senior Night at
Pruitt Hall on the UWA campus.
UWA (25-4, 7-3 GSC) dropped the
first two games of the match
30-16 and 30-20 before falling
in game three 30-25. Allison
Nail led the Tigers with 15
kills. Giuliana De Francesco and
Gabriela Pedrosa both recorded
double-doubles. De Francesco, a
native of Sao Paulo, Brazil,
tallied 11 digs and 37 assists
in the match. Pedrosa, a Belo
Horizonte, Brazil-native,
totaled 10 kills and 10 digs in
the final home of match of the
year.
Andressa Martins paced West
Georgia with 14 kills with
Carolin Schoeneck adding 10
kills a team leading 12 digs.
Micque Parker recorded 32
assists and Mattie Pearce carded
10 digs.
West Alabama will spend the
final week of the regular season
on the road, as the Tigers will
open a three-game set in Mobile,
Ala., playing visitor to Spring
Hill College. UWA will wrap up
the season with trips to GSC
divisional foes West Florida and
Valdosta State. The match at
Spring Hill is scheduled for
7:00 p.m.
