LIVINGSTON, Ala. —
University of West Alabama’s
Allison Nail has been named to
the 2007 Division II Daktronics
All-South Central Region
Volleyball Team released on
Wednesday. The all-region award
is the second post season
achievement Nail has earned this
year. She was named to the
First Team All-Gulf South
Conference last week.
With her
selection to the first team
squad, the Cullman, Ala.-native
is eligible to be apart of the
nation-wide team that will be
announced at a later date. Nail
turned in a stellar junior
campaign, posting a team-best
452 kills in 33 matches this
season. She moved past the
1,000-career kill mark this
season. She ranks fifth in the
GSC in hitting percentage (.308)
and kills. Nail reached double
figures in kills in 26 matches
this season, including eight
double-double performances.
The Tigers
wrapped up the 2007 season with
a 27-6 record and a
school-record .818 winning
percentage. UWA also earned a
trip to the GSC Tournament – its
first since 2002. Head coach
Ron Arenz’s club opened the
slate with a school-best and
nation-best 18 straight wins.
