LIVINGSTON, Ala. —The
University of West Alabama
volleyball team will open the
2007 Gulf South Conference
Tournament against Henderson
State at noon on Friday, Nov. 9,
in Searcy, Ark. at Harding’s
Rhodes Field House.
If the
Tigers get past the Lady Reddies
on Friday, they would face the
winner of the West
Florida/Ouachita Baptist match.
The semifinal match is set for
noon on Saturday, Nov. 10 with
the championship match later
that day beginning at 7:30 p.m.
UWA enters the eight-team field
as the third seed from the
Eastern Division. UWF is the
top seed in UWA’s bracket. The
Tigers are making their first
trip to the GSC post season
event since the 2002 season.
UWA will be broadcasting its
matches from the GSC Tournament
on the radio and on the
internet. The Voice of the
Tigers Jason Gardner will be
describing all the action along
with Assistant Athletic Director
Janet Montgomery. The matches
can be heard on WSLY, Y-104.9 FM
and on the internet at
athletics.uwa.edu.
The winner of the GSC
Tournament will receive the
conference’s automatic berth
into the 2007 NCAA Division II
Tournament.
