LIVINGSTON, Ala. — The
University of West Alabama
volleyball team is ranked 25
th
in this week’s CSTV/American
Volleyball Coaches Association
Division II Coaches Poll,
released by the organization on
Monday. The national ranking is
the first in the history of the
program.
UWA remains the lone
undefeated team in NCAA Division
II Women’s Volleyball. The
Tigers, who are currently riding
a school-record 18-game winning
streak, recently completed a
sweep of Albany State on
Saturday. The Red and White
earned its fourth Gulf South
Conference Eastern Division win
last Friday versus West
Georgia. The Tigers out-lasted
the Wolves 3-2.
Tampa maintained the top spot
for the second-straight week,
sporting a 15-1 record. The
Spartans received 27 first place
votes. UWA is the only GSC team
in this week’s listing and
garnered 49 votes in the
balloting.
West Florida, who received
recognition in this week’s poll,
will venture into Pruitt Hall on
Friday, Oct, 5 at 7 p.m. CST.
