LIVINGSTON, Ala. —
The University of West Alabama
volleyball team struggled at home
Thursday night at Pruitt Hall with a
3-0 loss to No. 17 North Alabama in
a Gulf South Conference match.
The Tigers (3-11 overall, 0-2 GSC)
finished with 39 kills, 15 errors,
while the Lions (9-5, 2-0) had 59
kills and 10 errors. Game scores
were 30-22, 30-14, 30-21.
Freshman Giuliana De Francesco had a
team-high 33 assists, while tallying
eight digs. Sophomore Nici Steckel
led the Tigers in kills with 12,
while sophomore Jacquie Swan
finished with nine digs.
Laura Bellinger paced North Alabama
with 43 assists and 10 digs, while
Nilcia Oliveira and Megan Stout
added 20 and 11 kills, respectively.
West Alabama continues its home
stretch Saturday, September 16 at
12:00 p.m. against
Alabama-Huntsville. |
