Tennis teams fall to nationally-ranked BYU Hawai'i

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The University of West Alabama tennis teams fell to BYU Hawai'i, 9-0 at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of West Florida Monday afternoon.

The Tiger men, who came into the match having beaten Mississippi College Saturday, dropped all nine matches to NCAA Division II No. 14 BYU Hawaii.

The West Alabama women also faced off against a ranked opponent, as BYU Hawaii entered the match ranked No. 1 in the country. The Tiger women also dropped all nine of their matches.

“The men and women played very well, but unfortunately both teams lost to really strong nationally-ranked teams,” Tigers coach Rod Hartzog said.

West Alabama returns to action Wednesday, March 28 in Pensacola, Fla. The Tiger men will meet Georgia College & State University at 10:00 a.m., while the women face West Florida at 2:00 p.m.
