LIVINGSTON, Ala.
– The University of West Alabama Wranglers
will host the 11th Annual UWA
Rodeo Showdown Thursday, November 8th
through Saturday, November 10th
at the Don C. Hines Rodeo Complex. Events
start at 7:30 each evening. Admission is
$10.00 for adults and $6.00 for children,
and UWA Students get in free with valid ID.
Approximately 120
participants, representing 18 universities
from around the country and the Ozark Region
are slated for the three-night rodeo in
Livingston.
The women’s team
is ranked 7th in the Ozark Region
with 245 points. Lauren Hedrick, Carissa
Purvis and Natasha Parker lead the way for
the women wranglers. Hedrick is ranked 5th
in goat tying with 130 points. Purvis sits
in 6th in breakaway roping (160
points) with Parker in 9th with
75 points.
Tyler
Earwood and Daniel Poole will represent UWA
in the bull riding with Alex Caudle taking
part in the calf roping. Justin Caylor, who
will be participating in his first rodeo for
UWA, will take part in the bronc riding.
