MURRAY,
Ky. – The University of West Alabama
Wranglers competed in the Murray State rodeo
over the weekend with the women placing
third with 250 points and the men finishing
seventh with 140 points.
On the
women’s side, Lauren Hedrick finished second
in the women’s all-around with 165 points.
The Frisco City, Ala.-native placed second
in the goat tying with a time of 18.7 and
sixth in the team roping heeler with a time
of 25.5. Deanna Mixon placed sixth in the
barrel racing with a time of 34.75, as
Natasha Parker placed sixth in the breakaway
roping with a 15.8.
The men
were led by Justin Caylor, who finished
second in the saddle bronc riding with a
score of 142.
West
Alabama returns to action on Thursday, March
6th at the Mississippi State
rodeo in Meridian, Miss. The event concludes
on Saturday, March 8th.
