CASPER,
Wyo. – The University of West Alabama’s
Natasha Parker and Cristi Heisman competed
in the third day of the Collegiate National
Finals Rodeo at the Casper Events Center on
Tuesday afternoon.
Parker is
in a three-way tie for fifth in the average
in the breakaway roping event with a 6.2.
The Bay Minette, Ala.-native claimed the
breakaway roping crown in the Ozark Region
this season en route to the CNFR. Heisman, a
native of Livingston, Ala.- native, is in a
tie for 20th place in goat-tying with a
16.8.
“Natasha
and Cristi have both competed strong in the
College Finals.,” UWA Head Coach Chad Phipps
said. “They both need strong runs as we come
down the stretch.”
The CNFR
is in its 10th year in Casper,
Wyo. at the Casper Events Center. The
National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association
crowns individual event champions in saddle
bronc riding, bare back riding, bull riding,
tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team
roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and
goat tying. National team championships are
also awarded to both men's and women's
