CASPER,
Wyo. – The University of West Alabama’s
Natasha Parker and Cristi Heisman competed
in the second day of the Collegiate National
Finals Rodeo at the Casper Events Center on
Monday afternoon.
Parker, a
Bay Minette, Ala.-native, remains in third
and is one-tenth of a second out of first in
the average in the breakaway roping. Parker
has registered a score of 6.2 for the two
days. Parker claimed the breakaway roping
crown in the Ozark Region this season en
route to the CNFR. In her first day of
competition, Heisman, a Livingston,
Ala.-native, is in a tie for 21st
place in goat-tying with an 8.4.
“Both
Natasha and Cristi have competed well in the
College Finals,” UWA Head Coach Chad Phipps
said. “Natasha is in good condition, being
just one-tenth of a second out of first in
the average. Cristi needs a good run in the
goat-tying to get back into contention.”
