Parker in Third after Sunday at the CNFR

CASPER, Wyo. – The University of West Alabama’s Natasha Parker stands in third after the first round of the breakaway roping event at the Collegiate National Finals Rodeo at the Casper Events Center on Sunday afternoon.

Parker, a Bay Minette, Ala.-native, registered a score of 2.5 on Sunday afternoon. Parker claimed the breakaway roping crown in the Ozark Region this season.

“Natasha has set herself up to win nationals after today,” UWA Head Coach Chad Phipps said. “She looked very fast in her first run. Now she just needs to remain smooth through the next three runs.”

The CNFR is in its 10th year in Casper, Wyo. at the Casper Events Center. The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association crowns individual event champions in saddle bronc riding, bare back riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying. National team championships are also awarded to both men's and women's teams. For more information on the CNFR, visit www.cnfr.com.
