
CASPER,
Wyo. – The University of West Alabama’s
Natasha Parker stands in third after the
first round of the breakaway roping event at
the Collegiate National Finals Rodeo at the
Casper Events Center on Sunday afternoon.
Parker, a
Bay Minette, Ala.-native, registered a score
of 2.5 on Sunday afternoon. Parker claimed
the breakaway roping crown in the Ozark
Region this season.
“Natasha
has set herself up to win nationals after
today,” UWA Head Coach Chad Phipps said.
“She looked very fast in her first run.
Now she just needs to remain smooth through
the next three runs.”
The CNFR
is in its 10th year in Casper,
Wyo. at the Casper Events Center. The
National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association
crowns individual event champions in saddle
bronc riding, bare back riding, bull riding,
tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team
roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and
goat tying. National team championships are
also awarded to both men's and women's
