Ark. --
The University of West Alabama wranglers
competed this weekend at the North Arkansas
College Rodeo with the men’s team placing fourth
and the women finishing fifth.
The Tiger
men scored 595 points to finish 1.7 points
better than Tennessee-Martin. Missouri Valley
College won the event with 665 points, followed
by Southern Arkansas in second. Troy grabbed
third with 600 points, five points ahead of UWA.
Tyler
Pearson and Anthony Norwood finished first and
second respectively in the steer wrestling, as
Josh Napp finished sixth. Todd Bledsoe claimed
second in the bareback riding with Blake
Cavataio finishing sixth in the calf roping. The
team of Pearson and Chad Martin finished seventh
in the team roping as Pearson was named Men’s
All Around.
The UWA
women placed fifth with 90 points. Troy took the
top honor with 405 points as Murray State
finished second with 295 points. Arkansas State
placed third with 220 points followed by
Arkansas-Monticello finished fourth with 180
points.
In breakaway
roping, Sydney Bailey finished seventh followed
by Kelley Lacey in 10th place. Lauren
Hedrick claimed a seventh place finish in goat
tying and finished sixth in barrel racing as
Natasha Parker placed seventh.
The Tiger
wranglers travel to Martin, Tenn., to
participate in the Tennessee-Martin Rodeo on
April 12th with the rodeo concluding
on the 14th. |
