Tigers Host Southeastern Bible College In Final          Non-Conference Affair

LIVINGSTON, Ala. –  After posting a signature win last Thursday night against Montevallo, the University of West Alabama men’s basketball team will close out the non-conference schedule against Southeastern Bible College on Wednesday night.  Tip off is set for 6 p.m. at UWA’s Pruitt Hall.

The mid-week affair will be available on the B2 Network and through live stats at athletics.uwa.edu.

The Tigers, 9-11 overall, picked up their second Gulf South Conference win by grounding the Falcons of UM, 70-58.  UWA opened the game with a 17-1 scoring run and never looked back en route to a 12-point conference win.

Junior Jason Swanson leads UWA in scoring with a 13.8 scoring clip along with senior guard Jamaine Nance registering 10.0 points per contest.  Swanson has put together a string of 12 straight games with double digit points, dating back to the Miles contest.  The Troy, Ala.-native was five assists away from carding a triple double after scoring a team-best 16 points and 13 rebounds against UM.

UWA will look to complete the season sweep of SEBC after routing the Sabers 91-67 in Birmingham, Ala. on Dec. 20.  The game was played at Samford University’s Seibert Hall.  Swanson and Brandon Hampton claimed scoring honors with 21 points each.  Swanson also pulled down ten rebounds in the affair.

Following the final non-conference match up, UWA returns to GSC play on Saturday, Feb. 7 at UAH.  Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at Spragins Hall.  The game will be carried on WZNJ 106.5 FM.
