LIVINGSTON, Ala.
– After posting a signature win last Thursday night
against Montevallo, the University of West Alabama men’s
basketball team will close out the non-conference
schedule against Southeastern Bible College on Wednesday
night. Tip off is set for 6 p.m. at UWA’s Pruitt Hall.
The mid-week affair
will be available on the B2 Network and through live
stats at athletics.uwa.edu.
The Tigers, 9-11
overall, picked up their second Gulf South Conference
win by grounding the Falcons of UM, 70-58. UWA opened
the game with a 17-1 scoring run and never looked back
en route to a 12-point conference win.
Junior Jason
Swanson leads UWA in scoring with a 13.8 scoring clip
along with senior guard Jamaine Nance registering 10.0
points per contest. Swanson has put together a string
of 12 straight games with double digit points, dating
back to the Miles contest. The Troy, Ala.-native was
five assists away from carding a triple double after
scoring a team-best 16 points and 13 rebounds against
UM.
UWA will look to
complete the season sweep of SEBC after routing the
Sabers 91-67 in Birmingham, Ala. on Dec. 20. The game
was played at Samford University’s Seibert Hall.
Swanson and Brandon Hampton claimed scoring honors with
21 points each. Swanson also pulled down ten rebounds
in the affair.
Following the final non-conference
match up, UWA returns to GSC play on Saturday, Feb. 7 at
UAH. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at Spragins Hall. The
game will be carried on WZNJ 106.5 FM. |
