LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The
University of West Alabama football team concluded its
spring drills on Wednesday afternoon on the Livingston
campus. The Tigers rounded out their 15 days of practice
as mandated by the National Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCAA).
UWA Head Coach Bobby Wallace was
pleased with his team’s progress this spring.
“I am pleased with our spring
practices. I think we had a good spring,” said Wallace.
“We had had some position changes that I think will
benefit not only the players, but the team.”
Several newcomers and returning
players made impressions on Wallace and his staff.
“I am pleased with our new running
back Dameon Baylor, as he worked with Cole Mason. I
think our linebacker corp. got better with the addition
of Garry Pack and De’Antuan Matthews,” Wallace said.
“Mentral Ledbetter did a nice job with the
transformation from guard to tackle. We had a good
spring and look forward to the additional player getting
in here and getting into the mix and strengthening our
team. We look to be competitive next year.”
