INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
The University of West Alabama’s Garry
Pack was named the 2008 National Collegiate
Athletic Association Division II statistical
champion for solo tackles, as announced by
the NCAA.
Pack recorded 77 solo
stops in 11 games this season for an average
of seven per game. Nathan Yelk of Northern
Michigan finished second with 61 tackles, an
average of 6.78 per game.
The Hattiesburg,
Miss.-native is a 2008 Daktronics Second
Team All-American, Football Gazette

total tackles with 114, which ranks 16th
in the nation and finished in the top five
in six defensive categories for UWA this
season.
