ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of West Alabama dropped a triple overtime, 45-43, decision to Ouachita Baptist in Gulf South Conference football action on Saturday.

OBU’s third overtime touchdown coupled by the two-point conversion proved to be the winning points in the high scoring contest.  OBU’s Julius Pratt scored the game-tying points prior to Jeremy Young adding the game-winning points on the pass from quarterback Lance Parker.

UWA (4-6, 25 GSC) sent the game into the extra period on Jeremy May's safety with 3:59 remaining in the final quarter.  The Tigers held a slim 28-27 lead at the 11:38 mark after sophomore Terry Allen scored on an 85-yard scamper.  OBU (6-3, 4-3 GSC) added a Zach Wright 20-yard field goal to re-gain the lead.  Allen led all Tigers in rushing with 164 yards rushing.  Dameon Baylor posted a career-best four touchdowns in the setback along with registering 160 yards on the ground.  The Meridian, Miss.-native scored all of UWA’s offensive points except for Allen’s fourth quarter score and Cole Mason’s touchdown in the overtime session.

The pair of Tigers of the GSC combined for 957 yards in total offense.  The Red and White owned the contest in rushing with 361 yards on 60 attempts while the Purple and Gold had 348 through the air.  UWA entered the contest as the top-ranked defense in the conference.  The Tiger defense was led by Deantuan Matthews, who tallied 16 total tackles, 13 solo stops and three for a loss.  Matthews also registered two sacks and forced a fumble.  Garry Pack was credited with 14 stops, one for a loss.
