UWA Releases 2008 Football Schedule

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Department of Athletics announced the 2008 Tiger Football Schedule Thursday afternoon.

UWA will open the season with a home contest on Saturday, August 30^th against NAIA and Mid South Conference member Belhaven College. Following the season opener, the Tigers will make back-to-back trips to the state of Arkansas. The Tigers will travel to Harding University on Saturday, September 6^th in non-conference action, and then head back to the Natural State to face Arkansas Tech in Russellville for the GSC Game of Week on Thursday, September 11^th.

The Red and White will finish September with back-to-back contests in Tiger Stadium. UWA will host Southern Arkansas on Thursday, September 18^th in the GSC Game of the Week. The final game in the month will see the Valdosta State Blazers visit Livingston on Saturday, September 27^th.

The Tigers will conclude non-conference play the first weekend in October, as UWA travels to NAIA member Concordia College of Selma, Ala. on Saturday, October 4^th. The Tigers also travel to Delta State on Saturday October 11^th, followed by a visit to the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Saturday the 18^th. UWA concludes October on Saturday the 25^th at home versus West Georgia.

UWA makes its fourth and final trip to Arkansas on Saturday November 1st, as the Tigers pay a visit to Ouachita Baptist University. The regular season concludes with a home game against North Alabama on Saturday, November 8^th.
