LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
University of West Alabama Director of Athletics E.J. Brophy announced the 2007 UWA Football
Schedule, Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers slate for
next season will feature 11 games. In addition to eight Gulf
South Conference opponents, non-conference foes Webber
International and Concordia College, along with Division
I-AA and in-state rival Samford will round out the
2007 schedule.
UWA will open the
season on Thursday, August 30th, in Birmingham against
the Samford Bulldogs. Kick-off for that contest will be 7:00
p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
The Tigers will then
host Concordia College on Saturday, September 8th, with a
7:00 p.m. start time at Tiger Stadium.
West Alabama will open
GSC action with back-to-back road trips, starting with a
visit to Southern Arkansas on Saturday, September 15th.
UWA will follow that up with a trip to Henderson State
on September 22nd.
The Tigers will host
Harding on September 29th, before traveling to Webber
International on October 6th to finish non-conference
action.
UWA will return to
conference play, when the Tigers travel to West
Georgia on October 13th, before hosting Valdosta State
on the 20th on October.
West Alabama’s second
Thursday night contest of the year comes when the Tigers
host Arkansas at Monticello on October 25th. The game
against UAM will be the GSC Game of the Week and will be
televised on CSS.
UWA will host
Delta State on November 3rd for Homecoming 2007, before
rounding out the 2007 regular season at North Alabama on November
10th. |
