LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The
University of West Alabama football team has announced
the signing of 25 student-athletes for the 2008 football
season Wednesday afternoon. Among the signees are six
transfers and 19 high school seniors ranging from across
the southeast region.
“We are pleased with this signing
class. We addressed our needs and picked up outstanding
players,” UWA head coach Bobby Wallace said. “We have
brought strength to this class with nine high school
kids from Mississippi, nine from Alabama and one from
Georgia. Overall, this group is my best ever as a head
coach.”
UWA looks to rebuild from the 2007
season with the addition of these student athletes. Last
season, the Tigers placed four players on the Gulf South
Conference Second Team and one named to the Daktronics
All-Southeast Region First Team.
West Alabama opens the season on
Saturday, August 30, as the Tigers host Belhaven.
