LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama cross country team will take
part in the NCAA Division II South Regional
on Saturday, Nov.8, in Searcy, Ark. The
meet will be hosted by Gulf South Conference
member Harding University.
The
men's 10K race will begin at 9 a.m., with
the women's 6K race to follow at 10 a.m. at
the grounds of the Wyldewood Retreat Center.
The
NCAA Division II South Region is comprised
of schools from the Gulf South Conference,
Sunshine State Conference and Southern
Intercollegiate Athletics Conference. The
top two teams in each race advance to the
NCAA Division II Championship in Slippery
Rock, Pa., on Nov. 22.
UWA is
coming off a sixth-place finish at the GSC
Championship on the men’s side while the
Tiger women placed tenth in the field. On
the men’s side, a pair of Tigers earned All-GSC
status, finishing in the top 20. Austin
Enriquez placed 11th in the
individual standings at the conference meet
while Jonathan Sellers claimed 14th.
Carolyn Mancuso paced UWA in the women’s
event, finishing 22nd in the
individual standings.
