TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama cross country team finished
seventh on the men’s side and ninth in the
women’s event at the 20th annual
Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on
Saturday.
The
Tiger men were paced by sophomore Austin
Enriquez, finishing 25th with a
mark of 27 minutes, 10.75 seconds in the 8K
course at the Harry Pritchard Running Park.
Junior Craig Warlick placed 44th
with a time of 29:27.24. UWA was the lone
NCAA Division II team in the field,
finishing ahead of Division I foes Mercer
and Nicholls State.
In the
women’s 5K, freshman Carolyn Mancuso led all
Tiger women in the field with a mark of
20:01.12 and placing 36th. Her
finish marks the second time this season she
has led the squad. Freshman Jessica
Gonzales clocked a time of 20:34.91.
Both squads return to
action on Saturday, Oct. 4, trekking to
Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Auburn
Invitational.
