TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  – The University of West Alabama cross country team finished seventh on the men’s side and ninth in the women’s event at the 20^th annual Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday.

The Tiger men were paced by sophomore Austin Enriquez, finishing 25^th with a mark of 27 minutes, 10.75 seconds in the 8K course at the Harry Pritchard Running Park.  Junior Craig Warlick placed 44^th with a time of 29:27.24.  UWA was the lone NCAA Division II team in the field, finishing ahead of Division I foes Mercer and Nicholls State.

In the women’s 5K, freshman Carolyn Mancuso led all Tiger women in the field with a mark of 20:01.12 and placing 36^th.  Her finish marks the second time this season she has led the squad.  Freshman Jessica Gonzales clocked a time of 20:34.91.

Both squads return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, trekking to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Auburn Invitational.
