LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama cross country team returns to
the course on Saturday, Sept. 19, making the
short trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the
Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett
Running Park. The 20th annual
running of the Crimson Classic will get
underway at 8:45 a.m. with the men’s 8K.
The women’s 5K is slated for 9:15 a.m.
The
Tiger men are coming off a 17th-place
finish at the Memphis Twilight this past
weekend while the UWA women placed 25th
in the team standings. The men’s squad
jumped into the U.S. Track and Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association’s South
Region Poll, holding down the No. 10 slot.
UWA
will be the lone Division II school entered
in the nine-team meet. Joining the Tigers
will be Division I foes – Alabama, Alabama
State, Georgia State, Jacksonville State,
Mercer, Nicholls State and Samford.
Division III member Birmingham Southern
rounds out the team listings.

Following this weekend’s
action, UWA will venture to Auburn, Ala. on
Saturday, Oct. 4, taking part in the Auburn
Invitational.
