AUBURN, Ala. – West Alabama sophomore
Austin Enriquez turned in a season-best
finish at the Auburn Invitational on
Saturday, placing fourth overall and guiding
UWA to a sixth-place finish on the men’s
side while the Tiger women finished ninth in
the Blue division of the meet.
Enriquez clocked a season-best time of 25
minutes, 10.13 seconds in the 8k. His
previous best time was posted at the Crimson
Classic. The Fayetteville, Ga.-native has
led the Red and White in all four meets this
season. Jonathan Sellers crossed the line
at the 26:24.04 mark, placing 25th.
On the
women’s side, UWA was paced by Carolyn
Mancuso with a time of 19:51.80. The
Toronto, Ontario, Canada freshman’s time is
a season-best in a 5k this season. She
finished 21st in the individual
standings. Sophomore Kelli Hartley clocked
a time of 20:03.57 in the event, placing 25th.
UWA will compete in the
Gulf South Conference Championships held in
Birmingham, Ala. on Oct. 24.
