LIVINGSTON,
Ala. – The University of West
Alabama cross country team returns to the
course on Saturday, Oct. 10, participating
in the Jacksonville State Foothills
Invitational. The meet starts with the
women’s 5K race at 10 a.m. followed by the
men’s 8K at 10:45 a.m.
The UWA
harriers have been idle since Sept 19 at the
Mississippi State Invitational. The Tigers
were scheduled to compete in the
Pre-Southeastern Conference Meet in Oxford,
Miss. on Sept. 26, but that event was erased
by heavy rains that swept across the
Magnolia state that weekend. UWA is coming
off fourth-place finishes for both the men
and women at the MSU-hosted event.
The
field this weekend consist of host-JSU,
Emory University, Alabama A&M, Huntingdon
College, Bevill State, Gadsden State, Miles
College, Morehouse College, Montevallo,
North Alabama, North Georgia, Stillman
College, Tuskegee and UAH.
Saturday’s meet will be a final tune up for
the Gulf South Conference Championship that
will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24, in
Hoover, Ala.
