LIVINGSTON, Ala.
– The
University of West Alabama women’s
basketball team returns to action on Friday,
Nov. 28, as the Tigers (0-3) face host North
Georgia in the Lady Saints Classic. Tip-off
is set for 6:00 p.m.
UWA looks to pick
up its first win of the season in Dahlonega,
Ga. after falling 67-54 to Delta State on
Tuesday afternoon in the Tigers home opener.
Newcomer Keiara Middleton led the Red and
White in scoring with 12 points, followed by
11 points from Jenni Thomley. Valerie Harris
pulled down a team-leading eight rebounds.
North Georgia
(2-1) defeated Mars Hill, 73-66, in its last
outing. Syretha Marble leads the Lady Saints
with 22.6 points and eight rebounds per
contest. Harris continues to lead UWA with
13.7 points and eight boards per contest.
Friday’s contest
marks the second meeting between the two
schools, as NGU claimed the first encounter,
last season in the Lloyd Clark Classic in
Cleveland, Miss., 67-57.
West Alabama will close out the Lady Saints
Classic on Saturday, Nov. 29, as the Tigers
will face Carson Newman at 2:00 p.m.
