The University of West Alabama women’s
basketball team dropped a 65-53 decision
on Friday, Nov. 28 at the X-Trem
Shootout to host North Georgia. UWA
(0-4) was led by Valerie Harris with a
double-double of 18 points and 12
rebounds.
Jessie Clark
joined Harris in the double figure
scoring with a career-high 15 points on
the night. Syretha Marble and Whitney
Randolph for NGCSU each posted double-doubles.
Marble led all scores with 24 points and
11 boards, while Randolph supplied 11
points and 12 rebounds on the night.
UWA outscored
the Lady Saints in three facets of the
game, including a 40-9 advantage in
bench points. The Tigers recorded 18
second chance points to NGCSU’s eight
points, as the Red and White converted
23 points off of the Lady Saints 26
turnovers.
The Tigers
shot 32.7-percenet from the field in the
setback, including a 47.-1 clip from
behind the arc.
West Alabama
returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 29,
as the Tigers conclude the X-Trem
Shootout against Carson Newman. Tip-off
is set for 2:00 p.m. The Lady Eagles
defeated West Georgia 96-73 earlier in
the Shootout.
