LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama women’s basketball team returns
to the hardwood for its final non-conference
game of the season as UWA (7-13) travels to
Searcy, Ark. to face Gulf South Conference
West Division foe Harding. Tip-off is set
for 5:00 p.m. Live stats will be available

The Tigers
look to snap a three game losing streak and
earn their first win on the road this
season. UWA dropped its only contest last
week, falling at home to in-state rival
Montevallo. Valerie Harris led the Tigers
with 14 points and 11 rebounds, recording
her fifth career double-double. The 14 point
effort was the Lake, Miss.-native’s 19th
game in double digits this season and 17th
straight. Joining Harris in the double digit
scoring column was Omeshia Frost
(Lawrenceville, Ga.) with 10 points.
Harris
continues to pace the Red and White this
season, averaging 16.3 points and 7.4 boards
per game, which ranks fifth in the
conference.
Harding
(13-6) enters Monday’s affair riding a
losing skid of its own, having dropped its
last five contests and six of its last
seven. The Lady Bisons opened the season
winning their first 12 games. In its last
outing, HU was outscored 108-104 at Ouachita
Baptist. Stacey Owens led the way with 29
points. Owens averages 16.3 points and 7.5
rebounds per game to guide HU this season.
Following
Monday’s non-conference action, West Alabama
returns to GSC play, traveling to
Huntsville, Ala. to take on UAH. Tip-off at
Spragins Hall is set for 5:00 p.m.
