LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama women’s basketball team begins
a three-game homestand on Wednesday, Jan.
14, as UWA (5-10, 0-2) hosts Concordia
College of Selma at 5:30 p.m. The game will
be streamed over the internet on the B2
Network and live stats will be available at
athletics.uwa.edu.
The
Tigers, who are currently on a two-game
losing skid, are 2-0 against the Hornets
all-time. Wednesday night’s affair will mark
the first meeting between the two schools
since the 2006-07 season, a 75-40 win in
Livingston.
Valerie
Harris continues to pilot the Red and White.
The senior from Lake, Miss. averages 16
points and 7.3 rebounds per contest, which
currently ranks sixth and eighth in the Gulf
South Conference. Senior Danielle Baldwin,
the Tiger steals leader, ranks eighth in the
conference this season with 2.36 swipes per
game.
UWA
stumbled in its last outing, falling 62-38
at West Georgia in GSC play. Harris led UWA
with her third double-double of the season
and fourth of her career with 17 points and
12 rebounds. She’s scored in double figures
14 times this season with 27 career double
digit efforts.
Following
Wednesday’s non-conference affair, West
Alabama returns to conference play, as UWA
hosts UAH on Saturday, Jan. 17. Tip-off is
re-scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
