LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The 19th-ranked
University of West Alabama baseball team
returns to action on Wednesday, April 16, as
the Tigers (34-8, 8-4 Gulf South Conference)
host William Carey at 6:00 p.m. The game can
be followed via live stats at
athletics.uwa.edu.
This marks
the third time the two schools have met this
season and the 87th meeting in
the series. The Crusaders (30-16) hold the
all-time advantage at 51-37, but UWA has
claimed seven of the last 10 outings. In the
two previous meetings this season, WCU
grabbed a 5-2 victory in Hattiesburg, Miss.,
but the Red and White answered with a 9-0
victory in the nightcap.
The Tigers
held off Lambuth earlier this week for a
12-9 win, extending their win streak to five
games and improving to 27-3 at Tartt Field.
WCU is currently on a three-game win streak
after sweeping Loyola in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Crusaders are 11-7 away from Milton
Wheeler Field.
West
Alabama returns to GSC action this weekend,
as the Tigers host in-state rival North
Alabama in a three-game series. Start time
for the Saturday doubleheader is scheduled
for 4:00 p.m. with the finale on Sunday
scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Sunday will also be
Senior Day at Tartt Field. UWA will honor
its 10 seniors with a ceremony beginning at
12:50 p.m.
