LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama baseball team receives national
recognition in two polls, as the Tigers are
ranked ninth in the PING! Top 30 Baseball
Poll and 17th in the Collegiate
Baseball Newspaper Poll.
UWA, which
finished this past week 4-1, improved to
37-9 on the season and 10-5 in the Gulf
South Conference. The Red and White remained
ninth in the PING! Top 30 and moved up two
spots, 17th, in the CBN Poll.
The
Tigers, which were ranked 2nd
last week in the NCAA Division II South
Central, has clinched a spot in the GSC
Baseball Tournament in Millington, Tenn.,
for the fifth consecutive season. The
tournament is held at USA Stadium on
Saturday, May 3 and continues through
Wednesday, May 7.
West
Alabama returns to action on Wednesday,
April 23, as the Tigers host Stillman
College in a doubleheader. First pitch is
scheduled 4:00 p.m. The game can be followed
