LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of
West Alabama baseball team received national
recognition in the third collegiate baseball
poll of the week, as the Tigers (37-9) are
ranked 15th in the National
Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
poll, released on Tuesday.
UWA, which
was ranked ninth in the PING! Top 30 and 17th
in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll
yesterday, finished 4-1 this past week and
secured a berth in the Gulf South Conference
Baseball Tournament in Millington, Tenn. The
Tigers, which were ranked 2nd
last week in the NCAA Division II South
Central Region, have clinched a spot in the
conference tournament for the fifth
consecutive season. The tournament is held
at USA Stadium on Saturday, May 3 and
continues through Wednesday, May 7.
West
Alabama returns to action on Wednesday,
April 23, as the Tigers host Stillman
College in a doubleheader. First pitch is
scheduled 4:00 p.m. The game can be followed
