BIRMINGHAM,
Ala. – University of West
Alabama third basemen Rob Dahlberg was
named Gulf South Conference East
Division Player of the Week for his
efforts this past week, as announced by
the conference office on Tuesday
afternoon.
Dahlberg
earns his fourth career honor after
leading West Alabama to three wins this
past week including an extra-inning
victory over then-No. 10 Delta State
Wednesday and a GSC East Division series
win over visiting Montevallo this past
weekend.
The
Gilbertown, Ala.-product, Dahlberg,
accounted for four runs in the Tigers'
victory over the Statesmen, going
2-for-4 with a home run. Against the
Falcons, the junior was 5-for-12 with
four runs scored and eight RBI,
including a grand slam in the 14-13
series finale.
Dahlberg
becomes the fourth Tiger to receive the
weekly laurel from the conference and
the second GSC East Division Player of
the Week for the Red and White.
Teammates Tres Avans, Brandon Dill and
Mike Schmitt have received recognition
from the conference with Dill being the
only two-time recipient this season.

action on Wednesday, March 26, as the
Tigers close out a three-game, mid-week
series against Henderson State at Tartt
Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00
p.m. The game will be carried on
